Obituary for Jo Kathryn Woodson Jo Kathryn Woodson ARLINGTON – Jo Woodson went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jo’s memory to the North Davis chapter of the Church of Christ’s Arlington Hearts and Hands, Inc, located at 1601 North Davis Ave, Arlington, TX 76012; Phone #: 817-459-4950. She was born on May 16, 1940 in Kilgore, Texas.

Along with her parents and siblings, she moved to River Oaks, Texas in 1944 where she remained until reaching adulthood. She met and married her husband, Curtis, in River Oaks in 1958. After marriage, she moved to the Panhandle of Texas and lived in Dumas from 1958 until 1964.

During that time she had two children. She and her husband moved to Arlington, Texas in 1964 where she remained the rest of her life. Jo enjoyed reading and watching mysteries on television, crocheting, bluegrass music (especially Gospel Bluegrass), her Pomeranian dogs, “Molly” and “Ebby”, laughing and spending time with her family; especially her four grandchildren, whom she adored.

She was an active member of the New York Ave Church of Christ, in Arlington, Texas and spent many years volunteering at the Hearts & Hands Food Bank at the North Davis Church of Christ, also in Arlington. Jo was loved by her entire family, but, alas, her time to take the Gospel Train had arrived and God took her with Him. She will be sorely missed, but her family knows without a doubt that until we arrive there ourselves, Jo will be in good hands and will be waiting for us there in Heaven.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Aloie Dorris; as well as both of her brothers, Lewis E. and James F. Dorris. Jo is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Curtis Woodson, of Arlington, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Therese Woodson of Midlothian, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Danny Ikeler of Rendon, Texas; four grandchildren, Travis Woodson of Fort Worth, Texas, Taylor Woodson of Midlothian, Texas, Brooke Ikeler of Brooklyn, New York and Devon and Blaire Petty of Grapevine, Texas; several brothers and sisters-in-laws and a host of friends.
