PETILLO, 89, of ASBURY PARK, died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. Joan was born on October 29, 1929 in Newark on the infamous “Black Tuesday” the day of the Great Stock Market Crash; she lived in Atlantic City and Neptune before moving to Asbury Park over 70 years ago. She was an avid world traveler and wintered in Hawaii for over 20 years.

Joan was a hard working mother and she dedicated every aspect of her life to being a devoted wife and raising her children. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Asbury Park. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Angelo R. Petillo in March of 2007.

Joan is survived by her sons, Anthony of Asbury Park, Joseph P. and his wife Karen of Brick, Mike and his wife Louise of Oceanport, Angelo G. of Wall, Patrick and his wife Dawn of Wall, and her daughter, Donna Marie Urbanik and her husband Joseph of South River, as well as 12 grandchildren; Karilyn Adra and her husband Mustafa, Michele White and her husband Christopher, Jodi Petillo, Andrew Petillo and his wife Zoe, Jennifer Rapuano and her husband, Bobby, Jillian Petillo, Colleen Petillo, Juliet Petillo, Angelo R. Petillo, Michael Petillo, Joseph Urbanik and Gina Urbanik; and 4 great grandchildren, CJ White, Mikey White, Nico White and Tori Rapuano; and a devoted brother, Jerry Katelhon and his wife Joan. Joan was very proud of her children and all that they have accomplished. Visitation will be held on Friday December 28 from 4-7 pm in Buckley Funeral Home 509 Second Ave.

, Asbury Park NJ 07712. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Asbury Park.
