OBITUARY Joan L Scherzer July 24, 1931 – September 5, 2018 Joan Lee Reeser Scherzer July 24, 1931 – September 5, 2018 Joan Lee Reeser Scherzer (Joan), age 87, passed away peacefully under the capable and compassionate hands of the Palliative Unit at Baptist Health with support from Hosparus. She is preceded in death by her parents, Asa Reeser and Marie Schneider Reeser; her husband, Norbert Scherzer; her son, Dennis Scherzer, and her sibling, Betty Jo Reeser Becker. She is survived by her daughter Judy Scherzer Corum (David); daughter-in-law, Vickie Scherzer; her grandchildren, Christy Scherzer, Brian Corum, and Lisa Corum; and five great grandchildren.

Joan and Norb were married for 65 years. Joan was a stay-at-home mom, lovingly raising Judy and Dennis until they were grown. She then worked at H &R Block as a tax preparer and taught their classes.

When Norb retired, he and Joan made crafts. Norb made the crafts, Joan painted them, and together they set up booths at many of the craft shows in and around the Louisville area, making new friends wherever they went. Her other interests through the years included spending time with her family, fishing, playing cards and bingo, crewel embroidery, and singing, Visitation for Joan will be held on Monday, September 10,2018 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Arch L, Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.

40218. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 7:00 pm. A private burial will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery.

The fact that Joan was able to pass so peacefully is due to the excellent care of the Palliative Unit.
