Joan Darnell, 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Sterling Care Frostburg Village. Born on December 4, 1936, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Jesse C. and Florence Etta (Bittinger) Warnick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Geraldine Sigler, Freda Thomas, Mayme Densmore, Leah Warnick and Zelda Orr and her brother James Warnick.

Joan worked in the Dietary Department at Frostburg State University for several years and was lovingly known as “the omelet lady”. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Frostburg. Surviving are her children, Cindy Beeman and husband Steve, David Darnell and wife Valerie, Terry Preston and husband Dale, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service for her will be held on Saturday, June 15th @ 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall in Frostburg. A dinner will immediately follow the service at the Finzel Firehall provided by the Ladies’ Auxiliary. We would like to thank those in our family who gave of themselves day after day in keeping her comfortable in her time of need.

A loving thanks to the staff at Sterling Care Frostburg Village for giving her personal attention and making her feel loved and protected. Also, a heartfelt thanks of appreciation to the congregation for their daily visits, cards, prayers and the ongoing support that we never doubted would be there. Most of all, we thank Jehovah for giving us the strength needed and for His loving promise found in the Bible that we have the hope of seeing our loved ones again someday.
