JoAnn Gayle Ellingson, 78, of Burlington, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at her daughter’s home. She was born on June 23, 1940 in Black River Falls to Merlin and Helen (nee Schansberg) Woodhull. She grew up in Taylor before moving to Mondovi in 1952.

She graduated from Mondovi High School class of 1958. JoAnn was united in marriage to John Ellingson in 1959 in Mondovi. In 1963 they moved to Racine to raise their family.

They divorced in 1978. In 1982 she moved… Read More » to Wheatland Township to operate Jo & Dee’s Country Market. She was united in marriage to Peter L. Kartsonas and spent 35 wonderful years together before his death on February 13, 2015.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter Kim Ellingson; Step daughters, Dawn Riemer, Tracy Kartsonas, Shiela Kartsonas, Cheryl Ort and Cathy Marzini; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Pete and a daughter Deanna Jo Severson. A Memorial Service for JoAnn will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 3pm at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with Rev.

Rob Bolling officiating. Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Monday, October 8 from 1pm to 3pm. A private burial for JoAnn and Pete will take place at Union Cemetery.
