Joanne Lee Durham, age 85, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 19, 2018 with her family by her side at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of D.F. & Eva Mary (Shindorf) Pollock, she was born on September 12, 1933 in Belding. On April 30, 1953 she wed Aldon Leroy Durham and together they raised five children and this year celebrated 65 years of marriage.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Joanne also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and singing… especially karaoke and at country music jamborees where many will remember her “Minnie Pearl” impersonation, but most of all she delighted in time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aldon L. “Aldie” Durham, just last month on November 6, 2018; their son, Dennis Durham; two grandsons, Aaron Leroy Durham and Aldon Duane Durham; an infant brother, Wesley Pollock; two sisters, Shirley Kloosterman and Alana Frost; and a brother, Gordon Pollock. Surviving are her children, Starr Mason & Bryan Ashley, Allen & Shirley Durham, Rocky Durham, and Bobbie Jo Durham, all of Greenville; four grandchildren, Sonja & Joseph Hunt, Raquel & Robert Barker, Rhiana Gunderson, and Treighton Keen; seven great-grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Jennifer, Wayne, Casey, Trey, and Corbin; two great-great grandsons, Blayton and Emerson; two brothers, Raymond & Lynne Pollock of Lakeview, and Gregory & Donna Gunderson of Arizona; a brother-in-law, Victor Frost of Crystal; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rev. Ken Harger, retired pastor of Shiloh Community Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
