JoAnne Lee Webb died November 6, 2018, free from pain, confusion and the frustration of dementia at the age of 88. She was the second of three children born in Pendleton, OR to Georgia Alfa Albee and William Montgomery Albee on November 30, 1929. She and her siblings John and Bill Albee moved to Ontario, Oregon City and then to Klamath Falls, OR where she graduated from high school.

The family moved back to Pendleton where she met the love of her life and business partner Donald Dean Webb. They were married in 1950, celebrating 68 years of marriage. JoAnne worked for the Farm Bureau and the Nirschel Brothers car dealership but in 1959 she and Don bought the Smyth Barthel plant and Webb’s Cold Storage was born.

Many hard and wonderful years of growing that business as well as raising their three children occurred until 1980 when JoAnne retired from Webb’s Cold Storage to join Don in his dream to own the Rainbow Café, which culminated in a second retirement in 1990. So many happy memories of friends, old and new were highlights of their life together. JoAnne volunteered many years for the American Red Cross Blood Drawings, voter polls on election days and at the Bargain Counter Thrift Store.

A favorite past time use to be finding funny cards to give her friends of the “Old BBC”. She was a lot of fun to be with and enjoyed laughing and sharing adventures of all sorts with friends. JoAnne was preceded in death by her grandparents Bessie and Alfred Marquis, her father Bill Albee, her mother “Georgie” Albee, her step-father Harold “Mac” McKeen, her older brother John Albee and her middle son Douglas William Webb.

She is survived by her husband Don Webb, her children Dave Webb and Wendy Carames, daughter-in-law Storm Webb, grandchildren Hannah (Adam) Gardner, Hank Webb, Ross Webb, Kasey Carames, Ben Webb, Rachel Webb and great grandchildren Georgia Gardner, Vyery and Qaida Faira. A graveside service at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton will be held Saturday, November 10 at 10:00am. A celebration of life will follow at 1:00pm at the Eagles Lodge.
