Joe Allen Glaspell, 74 of Shinnston passed away on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born November 12, 1944 in Haywood, WV, son of the late Curtis Earl and Hazel Ollie Swiger Glaspell. Joe graduated from Shinnston High School, Class of 1963 and attended WV Business College.

He served in the US Army. He worked for several years in building maintenance at the Nathan Goff Armory. His hobbies were watching NACAR and his driver, Dale Earnhardt and listening to music by Elvis Presley.

He also had a concrete business making Lawn Ornaments. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Patricia Jean McKinney Glaspell; two children, Kimberly Dawn Glaspell, Lumberport, Charles Raymond McKinney and Beth, Shinnston; four grandchildren, Toressa Jo McKinney, Cameron Seth McKinney, Kristi Marie Berardi and Chase Lee Berardi; siblings, Roy Glaspell, Warren, OH, Tommy Glaspell and Tammy, Ravenna, OH, Jack Glaspell, Wheeling, James Glaspell and Mary Spelter, WV, Linda McAtee, East View, Donna McHenry and Buck, Clarksburg, , sister-in-law, Ethel Glaspell, Spelter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Vonda Vietta Brown, Georgia Davis, Betty Tipton, Bobby Richard Glaspell and Kenneth Wayne Glaspell.

Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is handling the cremation for the Glaspell family. Private inurnment will be at Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.
