Obituary for Joe D Ellis Joe Dale Ellis October 1, 1941 – July 6, 2018 Joe Dale Ellis of Arlington, Texas (formerly of Brownwood, Texas) went to meet his Maker on July 6, 2018. Joe passed peacefully at home with his wife Betty, daughters Holly and Sheri and daughter-in-law Lorie at his side. Joe was born in Brownwood, Texas on October 1, 1941 to Jimmie E. and Bessie Mae (Bunk) Ellis.

He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1960. Joe attended Midland College and earned his Associates Degree in General Business. Joe married Betty Babbitt in 1957.

The family moved to San Antonio, where they lived for several years. Joe was then transferred to Midland, Texas where he was employed in the oil and gas industry. In 1986, the family relocated to Arlington, Texas where they continue to live.

Joe retired from Klabzubah Oil and Gas in 2012. He is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Arlington, Texas. Joe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty JoAn Babbitt Ellis.

His daughter, Holly Ellis Shaw and her husband Randy of Magnolia, Texas. His daughter Sheri Ellis Gentry and her husband Preston, of Arlington, Texas. His daughter-in-law Lorie Riggs Ellis, widow of his son Dante “Craig” Ellis, of Arlington, Texas.

His brothers James Ellis and wife Marjorie of Kerrville, Texas and Tommie Ellis of Brownwood, Texas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Adam Shaw and wife Brittnay of Katy, Texas, Megan Ellis Langdon and husband Brandon of Ft. Worth, Texas, Austin Shaw and wife Megan of Katy, Texas, Caleb Shaw of Magnolia, Chase Gentry of Arlington, Joe “Dalton” Ellis and wife Olivia of Azle, Texas and Bailey Gentry of Arlington, Texas.

Joe has five great-grandchildren, Presley Shaw, Hendrix Langdon, Brock Gentry, Zander Langdon and Skylinn Ellis. And numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded to heaven by his mother and father, Jimmie and Bunk Ellis, his sister Glenda Ellis Hallum, and his son Dante “Craig” Ellis, and numerous in-laws.

Although, Joe has left this earth, we live in the knowledge that we will see him again in Heaven. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 9. 2018 at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.
