OBITUARY Joe N. Mathis February 19, 1936 – September 23, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Joe N. Mathis Stonewall, LA Joe N. Mathis went home to his Lord September 23, 2018 in Shreveport. He was born February 19, 1936 in McCall Creek, MS. His parents were Ada Stokes and William Mathis.

Mr. Mathis served in the US Navy and was an upholsterer for more than 50 years. Mr. Mathis is preceded in death by his parents; wives, Luana and Mary; and brothers, Bill, Mike, and John. He is survived by his longtime sweetheart, Betty Terrill; son, Joseph Mathis and wife Karen; daughter, Kathy Hawk and husband Jim; daughter, Susan Terrill; son, Alan Terrill and wife Mabry; grandchildren, Jessica Bryant and husband Randy, Mary Bamburg and husband Christian Coleman, Teresa Bamburg, Rachel Bamburg and fiancé Andrew Mayfield, great grandchildren, Rebekah Bryant, Elizabeth Bryant and Josephine Coleman.

A service celebrating the life of Joe N. Mathis will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018, 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brother Tommy Allen. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Centuries Memorial Park.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Life Care North for their excellent care of their Dad. Jessica, the love and care you showed for your Papaw was phenomenal.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Lighthouse Baptist Church at 235 Flournoy Lucas Rd. Shreveport, LA.
