OBITUARY Joe P. Acevedo-Aguilar January 24, 1932 – September 19, 2018 Jose Acevedo-Aguilar, 86, of Houston, Texas went to his heavenly home early Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Tomball Hospital. Jose was born in Luis Moya, Mexico on January 24, 1932 to Casciano and Santos Aguilar Acevedo. On November 10, 1958, Jose married Ernestina Espinosa (Acevedo) and they enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage together before Jose’s death.
He provided and raised his family and was a member of El-Shaddai Revival Church in Houston, Texas. Jose enjoyed singing and reading his Bible, family gatherings, eating, fishing and enjoying the outdoors in his swing. Jose was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Manuel, Romana Salsa and Juanita Aguilar.
Jose is survived by his wife, Ernestina E. Acevedo; two sons, Joe Daniel Acevedo and wife Sharon of Houston, Samuel Acevedo and wife Elizabeth of Tomball; seven daughters, Rosalie Abrego and husband Raymond of Kingwood, Alice Miller and husband Bryce of Magnolia, Jane Thompson and husband Bobby of Houston, Lucy Rios and husband Joe of Houston, Olga A. Garcia of Magnolia, Priscilla Darlow and husband Craig of Tomball, Martha Torres and husband Victor of Houston; fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren as well as as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A visitation for Jose will occur Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Funeral service will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at North Central Church, 25130 Aldine Westfield Road, Spring, TX 77373 with burial to follow immediately at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
