Joel’s Obituary Joel Humberto Cabrera of Corpus Christi Texas was called home by the Lord for his eternal rest on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the age of 75. Joel was born on June 28, 1943 to Manuel and Delia Cabrera. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed.

Joel proudly served his country, fighting for our freedom, in the United State Army. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He dedicated his life to his family and his work.

The legacy of Joel was his strong spirit, the love of his family and his strong belief in our God. His memory will live on through his family and friends. Joel is survived by his sons Joel H Cabrera Jr. of Corpus Christi, Edward Cabrera (Chong) of Houston, Robert Cabrera (Michelle) of Corpus Christi, Johnny Cabrera (Orfelinda) of Rio Grande and Sylvia M. Rivera of Corpus Christi.

He is also survived by his sisters Diana Braden (Bill) of Salina OK, Ruby Cabrera of Houston, Talia Heilman (Chris) of Houston and Yvonne Garner (Jimmy) of Houston Texas, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 19th at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel B, followed by a Chapel Service and a Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20th with a full military honors at Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery in Corpus Christi.

Pallbearers – Robert Cabrera, Edward Cabrera, Joel Cabrera, Robert Cabrera II, Johnny Cabrera, Joselito Padua, Julian Cabrera and Joe Zungia.
