Joey “Joe” Griffin Dixon, age 58, of the Deep River Community, Sanford, NC, died Friday, September 14, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center. He was born in Chatham County, NC on August 23, 1960 to the late Griffin Jim Dixon and Kathleen Johnson Dixon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Kathy Foushee, Sandy Dixon and Ray Dixon.

Joe was a dairy farmer before working in maintenance at Pilgrims Pride for almost 17 years. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Holt Dixon; daughters Casey Dixon Hart and husband Mark of Pittsboro, Jennifer Nicole Dixon of Sanford; sisters Janice Inman and husband Paul of Bear Creek, Wendy Barber and husband Dennis of New Port, Valerie Nelson and husband Todd of Bear Creek; and grandchildren Kaitlyn, Cameron, Bryonna and Peyton. The family will have a gathering of family and friends at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and other times at the family home.

There will be no formal service.
