Obituary for John “Jack” Carota John A. “Jack” Carota, 72 years, a resident of Wells, formerly of Wilmington, MA, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Boston, MA on April 29, 1945, a son of John and Frances (Parisi) Carota. He graduated from Boston Latin High School.

He was a professional engineer, who also held a Master’s degree in business, a graduate of Northeastern University, Merrimac College, Wentworth Institute and Babson College. He was employed by Stone and Webster Company in Boston for 20 years, and also worked at the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) in their Boston office for several years, and then worked at Goldman Environmental Company in Braintree, MA. He was an Adjunct Professor at Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute, retiring in 2013.

John enjoyed playing golf, gardening, oil painting, traveling and especially loved spending time with his family and his dog Sam. He was predeceased by his parents, and a step-son, Stevens Hansen, in 2015. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda A. (Colson) Carota of Wells; two daughters, Jacqueline Carota of Plymouth, MA and Elizabeth Carota of New Bedford, MA; a step-daughter, Sharon Hansen and her fiancé, Nick Martone of North Andover, MA; a sister, Catherine Capuano and her husband Nicholas of Stoneham, MA; and five grandchildren, Justin, Sarah, Jeremy, Alyssa and Macayla as well as several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. Services will be private. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Wells Branch in the spring.
