Obituary for John Bailey Nolen John Baily Nolen, age 86, of Adams, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9 at 1pm at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Dr. Tommy Crunk, Brother Eddie Bellar and Brother Tyler Estep officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery with Butch Turner, Jimmy Fletcher, Lonnie Whitlow, Robert Evans, John Holt and Robert Mitchell serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are Will Holcomb, Dougie Caroland, Tim Henson, David Goodman, Tommy Campbell, Jackie Hester, Bobby Bagby, Tim Chester and Mike Callis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, 4pm-8pm and on Tuesday, 11am until the hour of service at 1pm. Mr. Nolen was born October 21, 1931 in Adams to the late Hershel “Tully” and Emma “Monk” Browning Nolen.

He served in the U.S. Navy, was a meat cutter for 40years with Kroger and was a member of Red River Baptist Church. John was also a member of the Fishermen Club and involved with his community in Adams. In addition to his parents Mr. Nolen is preceded in death by his grandson, Jake Derting.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Nolen; daughter, Karen (Glenn) Derting of Bardstown, KY; and grandchildren, Zach Derting of Paducah, KY and Rachel Derting of Lexington, KY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Red River Baptist Church. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.
