LINDSTROM- A longtime resident of Chelsea, May23rd, John C. “Jack”. Beloved husband for over 66 years to the late Lois (McKennon) who passed away in 2015. Devoted father of John C. Lindstrom, Jr. and his wife Marilyn Lambert and Linda McCusker.

Loving grandfather of John, Frankie and Stephanie, proud great grandfather and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of the late Barbara Reagan and her husband Mike, Fred Lindstrom and his wife Janet, Lorraine Landry and her husband Francois, Gerry Houghton and her husband Charlie, Robert Lindstrom and Bernie Wilkins. Brother-in-law of the late Alfred and Robert McKennon.

John was born in Chelsea in March of 1930, the youngest of seven children. John was an enthusiastic and award winning flower gardener and worked in his gardens from dawn to dusk in the summer. As a young man, he spent much of his time at the family lake side cottage in Newfield, Maine where he gardened and built many decorative stone walls as part of his landscaping design for the property.

However, Jack’s biggest passion was painting. His father Eric, a portrait painter and professional photographer, taught Jack at a young age how to create art through oil paint, pastels, watercolor and charcoal drawings. Jack will be remembered most standing in front of an easel wearing a paint stained apron with a brush in his hand.

His art works are enjoyed in many homes. He was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Chelsea where he served as a ton for many years and worked as a supervisor for 44 years at Smithcraft/Lightolier, a manufacturer of industrial and residential lighting fixtures. The family wishes to thank the second floor staff of the Royal Meadow View Center in North Reading for their kind, cheerful and loving care of John.

Also, grateful thanks to Mary and Kaitlyn from Hospice Compassus for all of their competence, thoughtfulness, kindness and compassion which made John’s last year so tranquil and pleasant. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the First Congregational Church, 26 County Road, Chelsea on Tuesday, May 28th at 10 AM. Visitation with the family prior to the Funeral Service beginning at 9 AM.

Services will conclude with interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 175 Lake Street, Peabody.
