MOUNT HOREB-John Conrad Wacker, age 74, died on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at UW Hospital, Madison, when his fight ended with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born to Wayne and Anna Mae (Klinkner) Wacker on Mar.

18, 1944. John graduated from Madison East High School in 1962. He married Ann M. Mischke in June 1965, and they had two beautiful children, Lori and John.

He did many… Read More » things in his work life but was best known for his ability to fix vehicles and his woodworking gifts. John loved to travel and had many good years traveling by camper with friends and family.

He will be remembered for his love of family and friends and was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. He will be missed for his love of expounding on life, particularly on how a carburetor works, his cooking, his laughter and his wit. John was also a lover of music.

John is survived by his wife, Rita; his daughter, Lori A. Wacker; son John W. (Tina) Wacker; and his grandchildren, Tyler J. Wacker and Taylor M. Wacker. He is also survived by his siblings, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 310 W. Main Street, Mount Horeb, at 4:30 p.m. with Pastor Jared Parmley presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
