John David Randolph, 89, of Sharpsburg, GA, passed away February 20th 2019. Born to the late Glenn and Marie Conlin Randolph, in Decatur, IL. He was accepted to the Air Force aviation cadet program in February 1951.

During his tenure in the A.F. he piloted the T-6, B-25, C-46 and the C-119. Upon leaving the A.F. in June 1955, he entered the University of Illinois, majoring in Accounting. He graduated in 1957 with University Honors, the highest academic award they give.

He joined Eastern Air Lines in October 1957. He retired in November 1989 at the age of 60. He married Janis Mackool in September 1959.

He enjoyed playing golf and bridge. He planted and maintained a small garden every year. He was also very interested in education.

He was a basketball coach at St. John Catholic School for about 5 years. He helped start a new Parish and school, and was on the Board of Education and chairman for several years. He and Janis were co-presidents of the Woodward Academy parents club.

He was elected to the Woodward Governing Board in 1977. John was preceded in death by his wife, Janis Randolph and is survived by his 3 children; Claire Randolph (Newnan, GA), David Randolph (Las Vegas, NV), Angela O’Neill (Kelley), Ovid NY, and 2 grandchildren; Adam Suhowolak (Sharpsburg, GA) and Hilary Suhowolak (Denver, CO). He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 o’clock at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan. Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements, 770-964-4800. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of John David Randolph please visit our Sympathy Store.
