LaMoine, 75, lifelong resident of Grand Forks, ND passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at his home in Grand Forks. John Dennis LaMoine was born October 10, 1943 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Dennis and Ella Mae (Bergen) LaMoine. He was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from St. James Catholic High School, Grand Forks.

He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law. Due to the untimely demise of his father, John became the manager and eventually the owner of Denny’s Tavern in Grand Forks. John married Delphine Kirschenmann on June 19, 1965 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks.

He was a longtime and active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. He is survived by his wife, Delphine; his sons, David (Karen) LaMoine, Minneapolis, MN and Steven LaMoine, Grand Forks, ND; a grandson, Ethan LaMoine, Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Bonnie (Michael) Lantry, Cook, MN and Rita (Randy) Overbeck, Mandan, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Noah.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or place of worship. Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy at the church on Thursday. Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
