John Anderson, 74, of Middle Point, passed away at 1:38 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 3, 1943, in Palatine, IL, to the late Peter and Ila (Morse) Anderson. John married the love of his life, Donna Evans in 1964.

He served his county for 6 years in the United States Air Force before serving in the Ohio Army National Guard. John worked as a Trooper for the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 12 years. He went on to retire from the Village of Middle Point as the Village Administrator.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He loved taking road trips with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed riding motorcycle with his family and friends.

John had a passion for ministering and handing out Bibles with the Van Wert Gideon’s. He and Donna were members of Harvest Field Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Anderson of Middle Point; children: Trena (Marshall) Dempsey of rural Van Wert; Jeneane (Tracy) Garwood of Middle Point; Jason (Becky) Anderson of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren: Kayla Bidlack; Joshua Dempsey; Thomas Anderson; Natasha Anderson and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Anderson and sister, Ila Starner. A Celebration of John’s Life will begin at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Middle Point Community Building with Pastor Terry Martin officiating. A time of fellowship and a meal will follow the service.
