John E. Livelsberger, 98, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA. Born November 20, 1920 in McSherrystown, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence E. “Pat” and Mary Catherine (Small) Livelsberger. John was the loving husband of the late Nadine (Border) Livelsberger, who died August 8, 2006 and with whom he shared fifty-four years of marriage.

John was a 1941 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Hanover, PA. He was a veteran, serving his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. John was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, PA.

He was a life member of the Hanover Arcadian Club, the Hanover BPOE Elks #763, and Hanover AMVETS Post #22. Mr. Livelsberger worked as a head design engineer for Elsner Engineering from 1946 until his retirement in 1974. John loved to golf and play cards with his friends and family.

John is survived by a nephew, Ronald Rohrbaugh of Hanover, PA; one brother, William Livelsberger; and a sister, Agnes Kale of York, PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Livelsberger and Thomas Livelsberger; and two sisters, Mary Jane Keffer and Anna Bievenour. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 221 Third Street, Hanover, PA, with Father Joseph F. Gotwalt as celebrant.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail providing Military Honors . A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA, or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
