Greenville – John E. Schierenbeck, Jr., 55, of Sutton Street, died unexpectedly, Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. Born in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late John E. and Diane (Berggren) Schierenbeck, he had lived in New York and North Smithfield, moving to Greenville five years ago. Mr. Schierenbeck worked as a cashier and played Santa Claus for Walmart.

Prior to that, he had worked as an iron worker, and was a member of the International Association of Ironworkers, Local 40, New York City. He had also worked as a chimney dispatcher for Certified Chimneys. He was a proud mason, and was recently installed as the Worshipful Master of Morning Star Lodge #13, F. & A.M., Woonsocket.

He is survived by his children, Caitlin, Ashley and Jonathan and six grandchildren. . His funeral service will be held Monday, February 11, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.

Relatives and friends are invited, and may call prior to the service from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A Masonic Memorial Service, conducted by the Morning Star Lodge #13, F. & A.M. will be held Monday at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to assist with funeral expenses.
