John Franklin Clark, Jr. was born January 20, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to John Franklin and Fern Evelyn (Fowler) Clark. He departed this life on Thursday, November 8, 2018, in Claremore, at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 19 days. Growing up, John attended schools in Langley, Spavinaw, and Strang.

His second wife was the former Phyllis Lee Koontz. John was of the Baptist faith and was a hard worker. He was always working to provide for his family of 7 children, often having more than one job at a time.

His first job was at Bond Bakery where he repaired furnaces. He then worked as an engineer at the Phil Tower Building in downtown Tulsa. John then became a First-Class Engineer at American Airlines where he was a boiler operator.

While working at American Airlines, he also worked as a Boiler Operator at Oertles and delivered sandwiches to vending machines. John had a love for motorcycles and would take his family on rides whenever possible. He was also a very talented builder and craftsmen.

He made miniature homes and store fronts that were suitable for collecting. John was also known to make wooden puppets. He had a knack for playing pool and could build almost anything.

Above all, he loved his family. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. John is survived by: 5 sons: John Franklin Clark, III, and wife Charlene of Utah, Thomas Edward Foster and wife Denise of Texas, Orrin Ray Clark of Claremore, Oklahoma, Stephen Paul Clark and wife Angelica of Mexico, and George Lee Clark of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 daughter: Debra Lynn Fleming and husband Bert of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; Other relatives and a host of friends.

John was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 wives; 1 son: Billy Clark; and 2 sisters: Juanita Clark and Sharon Camp. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
