Obituary for John H. Phillips John H. Phillips, 80, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in West Branch, Michigan on February 27, 1938 to the late William “Buck” Phillips and Wilma R. Oost Phillips. John was a member of Woodlawn Methodist Church.

He was retired from Vanderburg Foods where he worked as a supervisor. John was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. Along with his parents, John was proceeded in death by his grandson, Jonathan Scott Phillips, his sisters, Shirley Wells and Jonell Mitchell, and his brother, Fred Phillips.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Brenda Wathen Phillips, his son, Jeffrey S. (Lucinda) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, his daughter, Nicole D. (Kenny) Huff of Owensboro, his grandchildren, Jessica Phillips, Jamie Hornsby, Nathan Huff, his step-grandson, Barry Toomey, his great grandson, Xavier Hornsby, his step-great grandsons, Phillip Toomey, Dillon Robards, and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at a later date. Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Phillips.
