Obituary for John H Scheer John H. Scheer, 90, peacefully passed away at The Altenheim, Louisville, KY on December 4, 2018. He was born in Louisville, Ky on August 22, 1928 to the late Herman Arthur Scheer and Artus June Scheer. Along with being a proud family man, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville School of Business and also had an Associates Degree in Real Estate.

John was an associate with Wm. T. Smith Insurance Company and worked for many years as a real estate broker prior to retiring from I.M. Whitlow and Sons. He was a veteran of the US Army.

John was a long-time active member of Bethel St. Paul Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Marilyn Scheer. Left to cherish his memory is his son, John C. Scheer; and brothers, Donald J. (Renate) Scheer and Robert D. Scheer; cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the gentle compassionate care and support given by the staff of Hosparus and The Altenheim. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm Monday, December 10 at Rattermans Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Rd. “in St. Matthews”.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Sunday, December 9 from 2:00-6:00pm and Monday, December 10 from 11:00am until the service. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Dr, Louisville, KY 40205 or The Altenheim, 936 Barrett Ave, Louisville, KY 40204.
