John M. Haugsness April 17, 1956 – February 07, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook John Milton Haugsness, 62, of Hutchinson, died February 7, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born April 17, 1956, in Kinsley, to Milton Charles and Louise (Greenstreet) Haugsness. John graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1974.

He worked at Lowen Corporation for 20 years as the digital printing manager. He currently was employed by Morton Salt as a relief operator. John enjoyed hunting, remodeling homes, working on cars, and going to Wal-Mart.

Known as ‘Mr. Fix-It’, he was a mentor to many family and friends, teaching them how to do a variety of repair work. John’s greatest passion and joy were his eight grandchildren. On August 18, 2014, he married Kim Powell.

John is survived by: wife, Kim of Hutchinson; son, Ryan Haugsness (Angie) of Hutchinson; daughters, Kaycee Timken (Brian) of Castle Rock, Colorado, Abby Powell, Stephanie Hogan (Josh), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Caden and Connor Timken, Kailey and Landon Haugsness, Blaine Pitts, Zach, Brooke, and Sadie Hogan, Zed and Bayley Ayres; and siblings, Michael Haugsness (Andrea), Greg Haugsness (Kristin), Bryon Haugsness (Sara), Cynthia Kay Haugsness, and Beth Gonzales (Larry). He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2019, with Pastor Harold E. Nelson officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. John’s visitation will coincide with his father, Milton’s visitation.

Milton died February 6, 2019. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hills, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
