Craig, Jr., 70, of Genoa died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at NW Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb with his loving family around him. Jack was born on August 31, 1948. The son of John and Marion (Koop) Craig, Sr

He married his high school sweetheart, Colleen Ostler on Sept. 19, 1970 in Winfield, IL. Jack was most proud of serving his country in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4- with the elite Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. Jack was the owner and operator of Craig Trucking for many years, but his true calling was farming.

He farmed with is son, Jeff in the Genoa, Hampshire and Burlington area almost his entire life. He was proud of this four children and his eight grandchildren and enjoyed every minute with them. He also loved the simple things in life- a cold Pepsi, watching the corn grow and the Blackhawks play, a good western on TV, a jackpot at the casino and dancing with his wife sometimes in their kitchen.

Jack will be remembered for his great sense of humor and loved to see people smile. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family. He leaves behind his wife, Colleen of 48 years; his four children, Jenny (Scott) of Genoa, Jeffrey (Sarah) of Monroe Center, Jason (Cindy) of Madison, WI and John (Edith) of Clare; eight grandchildren, Cody and Hayden Hodgson, Aubrey and Jackson Craig, Elanor and Eve Craig and Kane and Savannah Craig; three sisters, Joyce (George) Lange of Rolling Meadows, Karen of Bloomingdale and Ruth (Paul) Beaman of Fort Meyers, FL; two brothers, Paul (Sallie) of Leland and James (Julie) of Genoa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Brian Boonstra. His visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 28th from 3:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa and at the Church on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 AM.

His funeral service will be on Saturday, Dec. 29th at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 33930 North State Road, Genoa, IL. with Rev.

Jeremy Heilman officiating. Burial will be at the Genoa Cemetery- Busse Addition. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Amvets (ILAmvets.org) or the Trinity Lutheran Church of Genoa in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL.
