John P. Mirr, age 84, of the Town of Berlin, passed away on January 20, 2019 at the Heritage of Appleton. He was born on St. Patrick’s Day March 17, 1934 in Milwaukee to Leo and Gertrude (Nowicki) Mirr. John grew up in Berlin and took over the family farm at an early age.

Later he worked for the Berlin Foundry as a grinder retiring in 1996. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and especially loved goose hunting. John was a lifetime member of the NRA, a monthly supporter of the St. Jude’s Foundation and a member of the Berlin Foundry Old Timers Club.

John is survived by his children, Jane Ann Mirr of Westchester, Il, Mary (Michael) Athanasiou of Oshkosh; son, Michael Mirr of Berlin, Bill (Karen) Mirr; grandchildren, Krista (George) Matejovsky, Brad Walker, John (Kelly) Mirr, Sarah Mirr; great-grandchildren, Dominic (Lauren) Laria, Karli Kaup, Alexis Walker, Henry Mirr, Cooper Mirr; sister, Sandra Dudzinski of Oshkosh.
