John N. LaChappelle, 55, of Victory Highway, North Smithfield, died November 27, 2018 at home. He was the husband of Heidi (Lefebvre) LaChappelle whom he married November 26, 1994. Born in Willimantic, CT, he was the son of Cecile (Merrie) LaChappelle of Cumberland and the late Wilfred LaChappelle.

Mr. LaChappelle worked as an auto dismantler for North Smithfield Auto Recycling for over fifteen years. John enjoyed working on cars and playing pool. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by five daughters, Christine Guilmain and her husband Isaiah of North Smithfield, Monica LaChappelle of Chepachet, Shanna LaChappelle of North Smithfield, Cody LaChappelle of North Smithfield and Christina Jackson and her husband Phillip of North Carolina; son in-law, Kelvin Berroa of Pawtucket, two brothers, Robert and Arthur LaChappelle both of Willimantic, CT; a sister, Joanne Russell-Harvey of Central Falls; and seven grandchildren, Payton, Kilie and Jaxon Guilmain, Bryanna and Kristiana Morales, Victoria Figueroa and Chloe Carroll.

He was the brother of the late Gordon LaChappelle and Billy Jack Russell. Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
