JOHN OSBORNE SHACKELFORD Rose Hill, VA- John Osborne Shackelford, age 65, a resident of Rose Hill, VA, passed away suddenly Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born November 18, 1953 in Harlan County Kentucky to the late James Benjamin and Eilene Osborne Shackelford. John was a 40- year employee of the Lee County Department of Social Services and a member of McClures Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by the following members of his family: his wife, Nancy Jones Shackelford and son, John Paul Benjamin Shackelford; aunt Emogene Saylor; special cousins, Reid Saylor, Lawrence Ed Hensley and Stover Willis; sisters-in-law, Paulette Fultz and husband Larry, Karen Williams and husband Norman and Candy Lowe and husband Ronnie; his nephews, Matt Fultz, Robb Williams, Rory Williams, Andrew Lowe and Aaron Lowe; nieces, Jennifer Jones and Liza Ingram; grand-nephews, Evan Gwilliams and Mason Fultz; grand-nieces, Rachel Gwilliams, Hallee Gwilliams, Lillie Fultz and a host of beloved cousins, neighbors and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Robinette Funeral Home in Rose Hill, VA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev.

Bobby Howard and Rev. Frank Turner officiating. Following the service, interment will be led by Rev.

Larry Fultz at Botners Grove Cemetery on McClures Chapel Road, Rose Hill, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to McClures Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Phyllis Herrell, 5366 Flatwoods Road, Rose Hill, VA 24281.
