John P Green Jr , September 04, 1940 — May 03, 2018

Mr. John P. Green, Jr. of Millsboro, Delaware passed away peacefully in the care of his loving family and Delaware Hospice on Thursday, May 3, 2018. John was 77 years old. Mr. Green was born September 4th, 1940 in Milford, Delaware to the late J. Phillip Green, Sr. and D. Maxine Luzier Green.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Darrell Coffelt. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Phyllis Baker Green; two daughters, Karen Green Reed (David Noel) of Millsboro, De. And Terry Green Mooney (Kenny) of Hurlock, Md.

; his sister, Jeni L. Coffelt of Millsboro, De,; five grandchildren Alyssa Reed (Mark Albert), Brittany Reed (Nick Falkenstein), Danny Mooney, Kenny Mooney,III and Kaitlin Hardican (Mike) and ten great grandchildren. John is also survived by his beloved canine companion, Jodi, and many loving neighbors and friends. John graduated from Millsboro High School in l958 and served in the National Guard for six years.

He was employed at Lasher Labs, Sterwin Labs, and NCR, finally settling at Intervet from where he retired in 2004 as a manager. John loved to play tennis and golf and was an avid gardener and bird watcher. John and his wife, Phyllis, were very active in the local Parkinson’s Support Group where they met and made many great friendships with other patients and caregivers.

John rarely missed a Parkinson’s Group meeting or fundraiser. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who’s lives he touched through his love and kindness.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held from 3:00PM til 6:00PM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Millsboro Fire Hall, 109 East State Street, Millsboro, De. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in his memory to Delaware Hospice at 100 Patriots Way, Milford, De.
