Obituary of Wayne Paul Toomey: Wayne Paul Toomey, age 70, of Laurel, DE passed away in the care of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE on July 11, 2018. He was born in Lewes, DE on March 18, 1948 to the late Oliver and Esther Short Toomey. Wayne was a retired Poultry worker.

He loved to go fishing and spending time with his grandkids. He also loved hunting deer and rabbits, and just to go hunting for just about anything. He enjoyed going for rides in the car.

Most of all, he liked spend time with his family. Wayne also loved his dog, “Roscoe” very much and enjoyed talking to him while he perched on his knee. Wayne is survived by his two children: Timothy Toomey, of Delmar, DE and Melody A. Pettyjohn and her husband, John, of Laurel, DE.

He has two sisters: Erma Clark, and husband Levin, of Selbyville, DE; Bonnie Rogers, and husband Asher, of Selbyville, DE; and two brothers: Charles Toomey, of Delmar, DE and Harvey “Joe-Pop” Toomey, of Laurel, DE. Also surviving are grandchildren: Josh Pettyjohn, and his wife Shauna; Jason Pettyjohn, and his wife Danielle; and Hunter Toomey. Wayne’s great-grandchildren are: Gannon Pettyjohn; Ja’Von Snead and Jorden Snead.

A funeral service and Celebration of His Life will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, DE at 1:00 PM. Friends may call for viewing and visitation one hour prior. Interment follows in the Carey’s Cemetery, also in Millsboro.
