Robert J. Kelley, III of Millsboro, Delaware passed on August 29, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis Stocker Kelley for 58 years, devoted father of Kent S. Kelley, wonderful father-in-law of Anneli Rock Kelley, cherished grandfather of Sean P. Kelley, brother of Karen Lynne Kelley Sturm, uncle to two nieces and one nephew and many family and friends. Bob graduated from Polytechnic High School in Baltimore, MD where he was a member and president of Gamma Phi fraternity.

Upon graduation he entered the U.S. Army where he served for three years. He earned the rank of Specialist V. After the U.S. Army, Bob was able to obtain a job at General Motors Parts Division where he worked as a supervisor and facilitator for 30 years before his retirement. During his lifetime he kept busy by singing barbershop music and being a member and elected president of the “Bay Country Gentlemen” in Harford County, MD.

While living in Harford County, he volunteered as a coach of Little League baseball, basketball and football. After his move to the Eastern Shore, he became a member of the Lions Club in Ocean City, MD, Fire Chief of Ocean Pines, serving as a fire fighter, ambulance driver and an EMT-B. He also enjoyed boat ownership and cruising the waters of Ocean Pines and Ocean City.

He later moved to Delaware, where he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and became a member of American Legion Post 28 in Delaware. While in the American Legion, he was the Captain of the Honor Guard. A viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE.

A second opportunity for viewing and visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on September 4, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church, Millsboro, DE. Funeral services will be held on September 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 135 Parkinson Ave. , Staten Island, NY 10305 and/or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memorial and Honor Gifts, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
