Mr. John Joseph Rieder of Millsboro, DE and formerly of Mt. Ephraim, NJ passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018. He was 83 years old.

John was born in Gloucester City, NJ on November 16, 1934 to the late John and Laura Rieder. He retired from Wonder Bread Company where he worked as a delivery person. In his younger years he also worked at the Camden Navy Ship Yard as a welder.

Football was his favorite pastime. He was a member of the Mustang Club (fan club for Gloucester semi pro football team). John was very outgoing, an animal lover, loved golf and talking with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Sooy Rieder of Millsboro, DE; a daughter Kathy Jean Young of Millsboro, DE; two nephews Jimmy and Joe Hagen as well as a special friend Shirley Harris and her late husband Leon. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
