Obituay for Leroy F. Merson, Jr. Leroy F. Merson, Jr., 85, of Millsboro, died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Delaware. He was born January 15, 1933 in Savage, Maryland to Leroy and Birdie Merson. Leroy attended the public schools of Howard County, Maryland.

He later joined the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Leroy returned to Savage, Maryland where he met the love of his life and wife, Constance Redmond. Three children were born to this union; Larry, Lewis and Vanette.

Leroy was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Dagsboro and served God with a sincere heart. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; a proud man who worked hard to provide for his family. Leroy was friendly and outgoing.

He had a unique way of putting others at ease with just a few, simple words. Leroy also had a sense of humor and enjoyed life, including riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In addition to his parents, Leroy was predeceased by one sister, Ruth Miklajunas and two brothers, Ronald and Larry Merson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Constance Merson; two sons, Larry and Lewis Merson; one daughter, Vanette Eaton and husband Richard; one sister, Patricia Brannon; one grandchild, Franklin Merson-Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Military funeral honors were conveyed on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Chapel, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, Delaware.
