Jim Gerald, age 79, of Millsboro, Delaware, formerly of Salem, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 21, 2018. Jim retired in 1999 from Public Service Electric & Gas Company after 25 years of service at the Salem Nuclear Generating Station and prior to that worked at Dupont’s Chambers Works for 11 years. Jim served his country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corp and was awarded a “Good Conduct Medal” during his service.

Jim was a member of the Marine Corp League and the American Legion Post #28 where he supported many activities and served on the House Committee. Jim was a former NASCAR Pit Crew member and was an avid Fan of the sport most of his life. Jim also enjoyed camping, gardening, traveling, singing, dancing to country music and participating in 4-H events with his daughter.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra Lee (Disbrow) Gerald of 54 years, daughter Jacqueline Jane (Gerald) DeSanctis (Rick) of Mullica Hill, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Savannah Lane Racer of Mullica Hill, New Jersey and Austin James Racer of Pennsville, New Jersey; three step grandchildren, Adam DeSanctis, Lori DeSanctis and Erica DeSanctis of Warrington Pennsylvania, Brother-In-Law Russell Lane Disbrow (Eileen) of Tampa, Florida and nieces; Tracey Gralley (Glenn) of Pennsville, New Jersey and Stephanie Atkinson (Rich) of Cape Coral, Florida; BJ Robinson, Randall Robinson and David Robinson as well as other extended family. Jim was preceded in death by his dog Maggie; and his parents, Tullis Grant Gerald and Charlotte Mae (Porter) Gerald. A memorial service will be held on June 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, Delaware 19966 .
