Scanlon 64, of Wood-Ridge formerly of Jersey City passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Born in Jersey City. John received his Bachelors Degree from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City.

He was a security specialist at UBS in Weehawken and previously, John worked at AT&T. He was a former Little League and Softball coach in Wood-Ridge. John played the drums and was an avid fan of The Beatles and loved music.

Beloved husband of Mary Ellen (nee Monaco) Scanlon. Devoted father of Ryan Scanlon and his wife Kristen and Corie Vasiljevic and her husband Sash. Loving son of Mary Scanlon and the late Michael J. Dear brother of Michael F. Scanlon and his wife Irene and John’s twin brother Brendan Scanlon.

Son-in-law of the late Dominick and Joan Monaco. Brother-in-law of John Monaco and his wife Diane. And a grandson to be.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, January 19th at 7:45 AM. Funeral Liturgy from St. Michael the Archangel R.C. Church Lyndhurst at 9 AM.

Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Friday, January 18th from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl.

Memphis, TN. 38105 would be appreciated.
