John Paul “Johnny” Miller, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2019 at University of Colorado Health, Anschutz Hospital in Aurora, Colorado following a brief illness. He was 50. He was born Monday, March 10, 1969 in Casper, Wyoming to John Carl and Kathleen Marie (Rochek) Miller.

John was reared and educated in Glenrock, Wyoming. He graduated in 1987 from Douglas High School in Douglas, Wyoming and attended college at Casper College in Casper. He had a passion for the restaurant business having grown up around the industry.

This passion led him to owning and operating the Classic Café in Glenrock and the West Side Café & Hotel in Casper. After selling his business in Casper he moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where he purchased rental properties. He restored and remodeled his current home and several of his other properties over the years.

John quickly grew to love the Fort Collins area befriending many of his neighbors and contacts he made as he worked on the restoration and remodeling projects. John was a savvy businessman, a talented gardener and had a knack for interior design. He was a phenomenal chef with the most delicious green chili recipe that others could not replicate, despite how hard they tried.

He enjoyed spending time with the friends he made during weekly trivia and had a mind like a steel trap. He remembered dates, names, events, and even the most minor details which set him apart from others. John was so very thoughtful of others which showed in his actions, words, and oftentimes special gifts he handpicked with the individual in mind.

John never met a stranger and was one of the most kind, generous friends you could ever know. He was always genuinely concerned that others were taken care of. He was a loving son, nephew, brother, uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed.

John was preceded in death by his dad, John C. Miller, on October 18, 2016 and his cousin, Larry E. Miller, on October 3, 1987. He is survived by his loving mother, Kathy Miller, of Glenrock; sister, Wendy (Bob) Kaplan of Mesquite, Nevada; niece, Nicole (Cale), Ben & Lucy Ostermiller of Powell, Wyoming; nephew, Kyle (Keely), Ensley, Luke & Max Haar of Douglas; aunt, Bonnie (Denny); uncles, Steve, Leonard and Jerry; several cousins; his dear friend, Emily Linaman and family; and his beloved rescue Scottie dog, Baxter.
