John S. Bowman, 83, of Jeffersonville, died Sunday, December 16, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling. He was born in Menifee County on March 14, 1935 to the late W.T. and Iva Lane Bowman.

John was a native of Montgomery County and of the Christian faith. He loved to be outside whether in his vegetable garden or riding his four-wheeler, especially when the opportunity arose to be in the woods in Menifee County. John also enjoyed watching UK Basketball.

He will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Survivors include; his wife Birdie Mae Bowman, of Jeffersonville; two sons, Jim Bowman (Beverly) of Mt. Washington and Jay Bowman (Sandy) of Fern Creek; one sister Hazel Bowman Sweeney of Lexington; three grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren; one step son David Trosper (Tammy) of Jeffersonville; one step daughter Diana Sadler of Harrodsburg and special friend Jackie Cole of Mt.

Sterling. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by; one son Ricky Bowman; one daughter Debbie Bowman; eight siblings and a brother in-law Raymond Sweeney. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 1:00PM.

Visitation will be prior from 11:00AM – 1:00PM. Both will be held at Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory in Mt. Sterling.

Pastor Dennis Flannery will be officiating.
