John S. Valatkevicz, 79, of Plymouth, formerly of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home on hospice July 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Son of the late John and Lena (Gogis) Valatkevicz, he was a native of Brockton and served in the U.S. Air Force. John retired as a warehouse manager for M. Berman Co. after over 30 years there.

An avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and nature lover, he had been a member of Avon Fish and Game Club for many decades. John was also a dedicated fan of his grandchildren’s sports games. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Martin) Valatkevicz for 53 years; loving father of Amy Bates (and Richard) of South Yarmouth and Susan Kiefer (and Jack) of Plymouth; devoted grandfather of Olivia and Jeremy Kiefer; dear brother of William Valatkevicz (and Patricia) of Mattapoisett and Richard Valatkevicz of Marion; an uncle of several nieces and nephews; he also leaves cousins in Judy’s family.

All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday 3-6 p.m. and a 6 p.m. prayer service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Cremation and private committal.
