Earl G. Buker, 96, of Sweden, Maine, passed away peacefully Sept. 14, 2018 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough, Maine. A son of the late Ethel (King) and Charles Buker, he was a native of the Bukerville section of Braintree and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was in the D-Day invasion of southern France.

A master electrician by trade, he worked at Bethlehem Steel and also taught at Quincy Vo-Tech. Earl was the house electrician at Boston Symphony Hall and set up acoustics at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison, Maine. He resided in Brockton for many years.

Since 1967 he enjoyed summers in Sweden, Maine and upon retirement in 1988 winters in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was a hunter, cross-country and European traveler and followed the stock market.

Earl was the husband of the late Jeanne E. (O’Leary) Buker; beloved father of Steven Buker of Bridgton, Maine, Jeannine White (and John) of Wells, Maine, Dana Michael Buker (and Paula) of Decula, Georgia, Katherine Whipple (and Everett) of Georgia, John Buker of Brockton (Sgt. Avon PD retired)(and Monique Toleran), Ann-Marie Buker of Lehigh Acres, FL and Sharon Buker Tully of Brockton; brother of Viola Cobb of GA and the late Lloyd Buker; grandfather of Erik and Franz Buker, John “Jay” White (and Jess), Alisa Karwowski (and Tim), Kate McClure (and Patrick Morris); Lauren Lennahan (and Mike), Ashley Pepitone (and Joe), Allison Buker, Vicki Santos, Alex Whipple, Dr. Maryanne Wilbur (and Scott), Robert E. Buker, Kristen, Jillian, Beckie and Mike Tully; great-grandfather of 21and uncle of many. All are welcome to calling hours Friday 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton, his funeral Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Agatha Parish, 432 Adams St. Milton and burial at Milton Cemetery.
