Viola E. (Svedine) Szydlowski, 86, of Avon, passed away October 21, 2018. A graduate of Avon High School, she retired from Hit or Miss Warehouse after 20 years there. Crafty, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and ceramics, and was a talented cake decorator and candy maker.

She also loved traveling. Viola was the beloved wife of Januariusz “Jerry” Szydlowski for 64 years; loving mother of Diane Merrill and her husband Steven of Avon, and the late Carol Szydlowski and Jana Beth Szydlowski; dear sister of Lawrence Svedine of Brockton, Norma Hooke of Brockton, Donna MacDonald of Barrington, NH, and the late David Svedine, Carl Svedine, Barbara Tibnam, and Roberta Daversa; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Fri.

, Oct. 26th from 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral service Sat. , Oct.

27th at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home and burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Christ Congregational Church, UCC, 1350 Pleasant St., Brockton, MA 02301 or Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, 600 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111.
