Obituary for John Thomas Smith John Thomas Smith Augusta, GA – Mr. John Thomas Smith, 58, entered into rest Thursday, September 20, 2018. Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of Augusta, GA and a 1978 graduate of Westside High School. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid UGA football fan.

Family members include his daughter: Meaghan S. Whitledge (Jason); son: Ryan Dunaway Smith (Beth); 5 grandchildren; brother: Keith W. Smith of Augusta; and 1 nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. Smith of Taliaferro Co, Georgia and Rubye Dunaway Smith of Harlem, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A private graveside will be held at a later date. The family requests guests wear their best UGA Gameday attire to the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Dr., Suite 301, Cayce, SC 29033.
