Obituary John Wayne Pipes, 71, of Clay City passed away peacefully in the arms of his daughter Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in Union Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute on October 29, 1947, the son of Herschel Wayne Pipes and Norma (Gibbens) Pipes. In 1966 he graduated from Clay City High School.

In his young adult years, he hauled water for the rural community. John would get on the old tractor with a sickle bar and mow the county road sides.
