John Arthur Philbin, Jr., 60 of Oklahoma City, passed away June 27, 2018. He was born April 9, 1958 to John Philbin, Sr. and Diane Lee Douglass. John Jr. earned his Bachelor of Arts in photo journalism while on the Dean’s Honor Roll from the University of Central Oklahoma.

He served with distinction for four years in the US Navy, was an avid outdoorsman, chef and loving father, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his parents; the mother of his children, Barbara B. Philbin; daughters, Margaret Emerson Philbin and Claire Austin Walchuk and husband Zachary; grandson, William Nichols Walchuk; brother, Douglass Lee Philbin and wife Gwen Ann Kochanski; nieces, Sydney Diane Philbin and Amanda Jayne Philbin as well as many friends who will all miss him. Services to honor John will be Saturday, June 30th at 10:00 AM at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society.
