Obituary of John Butler John G. Butler 79 of Poughkeepsie died Wednesday March 28, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. John was born October 23, 1938 in London England, he was the son of the late William Charles and the late Beatrice Mary Jerrom Butler. John was a local resident of the area for over 22 years previously from England.

On February 2, 1997 in Troy, New York John married Vanessa A. Slater. John was a Security Guard at the Ministry Defense building In London. He was a member of the Church of England, he loved to do crossword puzzles and do latch hooking.

John is survived by his wife Vanessa of Poughkeepsie, son Steven Butler of Ireland, daughters Tracey Walder of England and Kim Perrotta of Hyde Park. John is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph, Jessica, Jason, Matthew, Ashley, Christopher and Matthew, great grandson Alex his little companion Tao and also survived by his brothers and sisters in England. Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.

The family ask that donations be made in John’s name to Hudson Valley Hospice 374 Violet Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave.
