Obituary of Kenneth Rhodes Kenneth A. Rhodes, 81, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Pines of Poughkeepsie. Born on April 9, 1937 in Bayshore, NY he was the son of the late Warner and the late Margueritt Cappe Rhodes. He was a resident from 1965 and previously of California.

Ken had served in the US Navy from 1956-1958 and 1961-1965. On June 27, 1964 he married Patricia Clancy Harrington at St. Stanislaus Church in Pleasant Valley and she predeceased him on May 16, 2008. Ken had worked as a Sales Associate for Sears.

He liked to golf and loved to travel, especially to Ireland. Family was very important to Ken; children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and was supported by a group of friends. He was a member of the VFW5913 where he was a life member, was a life member of Croft Corners Fire House of which he was past president.

Ken is survived by his children; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Curt Alitz of West Point, NY and son and daughter-in-law Michael and Andrea Rhodes of Tivoli, NY. Also surviving are his grandchildren Brian Vincent (Harriet), Ashley Waite (John) and Emma Alitz and his great-grandchildren Sequoia, Iris and Hazel Waite and Martha Lucy and Eliza Vincent. In addition to his wife Patricia, Ken was predeceased by his brother Warner “Dusty” Rhodes.

Calling hours with a Firematic Service will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 4-8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00am in the funeral home and burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery with Military Honors. If desired, the family requests any memorial donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation.
