JOHNNIE’s Obituary JOHNNIE B. “BROWNIE” ETHERIDGE, JR. , age 78, of Decherd, Tenn. , departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at St. Thomas West in Nashville.

Mr. Etheridge was born in Nashville, Tenn. , to the late Johnnie B. Etheridge, Sr. and Virginia Kent Etheridge on August 12, 1949. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving his country during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Etheridge was a graduate of U.T. Nashville. He is a former member of the Winchester Lions Club, and Winchester Bass Club. He enjoyed hunting small game.

Mr. Etheridge is a member of the Decherd United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Etheridge was preceded in death by his brothers; Ronnie and Roger Dale Etheridge. He is survived by his wife, Kay Counts Etheridge of Decherd, son, Kevin Matheny of Nashville, daughter, Lori (Jess)Amonette of Hermitage, Tenn.

, grandchildren; Jess “J.J.” Amonette, Brooke Elizabeth Amonette, Aydan Yates, Ava Rose Yates, Tenley Isabella Pierce, brother, Dennis (Linda) Etheridge, aunt, Bessie Bruno all of Nashville. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 3, at Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
