Krueger, 69, formerly of Kenosha, late of Mount Pleasant, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 4, 2019 at her residence. She was born on May 20, 1950 to the late Olgie C. and Rose E. (Lucas) Houston in Caruthersville, MO. She was educated in Kenosha graduating from Tremper High School in 1969.

She received her Associate’s Degree from Gateway in 1984. In May of 1970 she married Richard B. Krueger in Chicago. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2011.

Janie and her husband were foster parents for many children over the years and loved every single one. Janie was doted upon by her husband before he passed away. She was content but was not as happy without her dear Richard.

Janie enjoyed playing cards and dice with her family and friends. She loved TV shows, Coke and three plain hamburgers. Janie was very proud of her 10-year remission with cancer.

Janie is survived by her niece who took care of her Virginia Herek of Mount Pleasant, her siblings Buddy (Nancy) Houston of Ripley, TN, Calvin Houston of FL and Charlean (Ray) Berry of Memphis, TN and many other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. Funeral Services for Janie will be held on Saturday, January 12th at 12:30 p.m. at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
