Obituary for Gary “Straw” Russell Gary “Straw” Russell, 68, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at his residence. Born in Chicago, IL, on August 21, 1950, he was the son of the late William Russell and Violet (Lund) Russell. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local school and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.

Straw was employed by Snap-On and later Tecomet as a polisher. He will be remembered for being the “best guy in the world”, as he was encouraging, dependable, and helpful. Gary enjoyed cooking and entertaining, his Harley motorcycle, his seat at Bill’s Corner Club, and bowling.

He is survived by his three children, Diana (Brian) Rogers of NC, Casey (Stephanie) Russell of Kenosha, and Heather (Jamie) Jones of VA; six grandchildren, Cameron, Gavin, Riley, Emily, Christopher, and Noah; and many friends he considered his family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6th, at Proko Funeral Home, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
